Use the timeline found at this website to complete the graphic organizer. Pick 10 events from the ones listed that you feel are the most important and add them to your timeline. (Students will need 2 copies of the graphic organizers, they could also find pictures that go along with the events of the timeline.)
KWL-
Before beginning use your KWL chart and fill in the things that you already know about the Underground Railroad. Fill in any questions you may have. Listen to and follow along with the story at this website. After each page, stop and think if there are any new questions you may have. Once you have completed the story fill in the section about what you have learned on the chart.
